Collin's Baby Dedication

We dedicated Collin this past Sunday. Father's Day-June 21, 2009. Reverend Paul Case, Sr. (Collin's great-grandfather!) performed the ceremony. He had the family come up and sit on the front row and Kelsey Satterfield sang "Fearfully and Wonderfully Made". She did a beautiful job! Collin fell asleep soon after we sat down. Grandpa Case dedicated a Bible to Collin.... Here is the letter that he wrote and read to Collin.
"The Bible that I hold in my hand is God's Word for all Mankind.

It expresses the Love of God and tells us that we are loved by God from the beginning of time as He, God  made us to be in His likeness and for the glory of Himself. This Everlasting Word has been sufficient to all nations and peoples of every age and for all generations.

It tells of Jesus and His love and how He was crucified for our sins and through His atonement we find forgiveness for our sins. In fact John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." May you, Collin, find the Savior through reading  your Bible daily, and as you learn what it says and with the help of your parents know Jesus as your personal Savior. Make Jesus your Savior and Lord early in life, and tell others about the Lord.

Your mom and dad will do their best to teach you and train you in knowledge and instruction of the principles of God's Word, so that early in life you will know what is right and what is wrong. You will not always know at first why God planned HIs salvation for you, but ask of mom and dad and then take the BIble and learn what it says.

Collin, always keep your Bible where you can easily pick it up to read or to find the answers you need for your daily walk  with the Lord. Never be ashamed of carrying it or quoting from its pages, as it will help you to be strong in faith and learn of graces that will save you from going into sin or doing wrong.

This Bible is dedicated and given to you with the prayer that you will always use it and let it mold your thinking, shape your life, direct your ways, and lead you in the way of Holiness which is God's plan for your life.

God Bless you and keep you in His care from this day forward and through all your life."

He then handed the Bible to me and then began the dedication. When Jonathan handed Collin to Grandpa Case for the blessing and prayer, he started crying (he doesn't like being woke up at all!) ...but I quickly gave him his pacifier and he promptly went back to sleep!

I couldn't help remembering, one year ago, last Father's Day, was when we told all of our family that we were expecting...and now here he is!

Afterwards all of our family came to our house where we all enjoyed a delicious "potluck" meal...everyone brought something to contribute!

Sweet Baby O'Mine

Church Youth Group Trip

Every month, Jon and I try to take our church youth group on an activity-for the month of March, we took everyone to the mall for a scavenger hunt! We divided up into teams-boys against the girls-and took off!
Collin spent the night all tucked up snug inside his peanut shell! He really seems to like it!
One of the things on our list was to get an autograph-Stacy was brave enough to ask the Easter Bunny for his!
We found quite a few things on our list...a men's hat, a pair of red high heels, a 50% off sale sign and even rode the elevator up and down 6 or 7 times! -But the boys still beat us...they got a bonus because they were the first back at the meeting place!
